Carolyn and Cory had been dating since high school when Cory proposed on October 29, 2010 (his birthday!). Together, they had endured a senior prom wearing matching zebra ensembles, a long distance relationship from college until finally, returning back home in Westhampton Beach. Carolyn says, “I feel like I always knew Cory was the one, he always makes me laugh, and he is so incredibly kind and generous.” They decided to get married in the summer, as they are both teachers, and love how beautiful the east end of Long Island is in the summer months.
Carolyn wanted her wedding to be classy, slightly vintage, and most importantly, the ultimate dance party. Their color scheme was built around the invitations by William Arthur, which were a cobalt blue and canary yellow. The bridesmaids wore bright blue dresses by Calvin Klein, and we had yellow parasols for the beach. The men had sunflower boutonnieres with blue vests and tuxedos by Calvin Klein. They also incorporated the monogram C&C featured on their invitation on their unity candle, cake, and programs.
Carolyn and Cory’s ceremony was held at The Immaculate Conception Church in Westhampton Beach, New York. Carolyn’s 4th-6th Grade Chamber Choir sang, “May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You” as the couple lit the Unity Candle. After the ceremony, their trolley took the wedding party to Swordfish Beach Club for pictures, then proceeded to the Bellport Country Club to commence the reception.
“The Bellport Country Club,” Carolyn recalls, “perfectly fulfilled my vision of beauty and restraint. The dark wood bar, the cream paneled walls, the sparkling chandelier, everything was elegant and stunning. Our tables were filled with mini vases of bright festive flowers, surrounding the larger vase amidst the candlelight.”
The newlywed couple incorporated their friends and families talents into their wedding. Cory’s brother, Robby, created personalized cocktail drawings to hang above the bar, Cory’s brother, Sean, and friend, Scott, played for their first dance as husband and wife. As a complete surprise to the bride, their high school jazz group “LTD” reconvened at their wedding to sing “This Night” to the amusement of all of their guests.
It was an unforgettable night of intense dancing, amazing food, and all encompassing love.
